Songs for the beautiful, broken and wretched.

"The Tail Lights had some likening them to Buffalo Tom and other such dusty, desert high ways but with a much more British feel... Briticanna?"

"Warm and heartfelt indie rock"

"Just some unknown band from Lincoln that no-one's ever heard of."

A website? Are you kidding me?

Sharing your music on social media and the music platforms is soul destroying.  You spend hours - and a considerable amount of money - to craft songs only to then throw them into a cacophonous ocean.

We were getting burned out by that and so we chose a different path.

Welcome to The Tail Lights.net - a bespoke space where you can discover more about our music and our journey beyond the songs.

We'll feature our songs here, at various stages of production - from the barest, sketchiest sketches, to fully produced releases.

We'll also share music that has inspired us and fed into our tracks as well as new music that we discover along the way.

It's great to have you along for the ride.

About The Tail Lights

The Tail Lights started when Neil returned to writing songs after a fifteen year hiatus. The reason for doing so was to show his son Henry that there is no magic to songwriting.  You just do it and learn the craft.   It turns out that encouragement is cyclical and just as father sought to inspire son, son then encouraged father to commit to these new songs and record them.

And so The Tail Lights were born as a vehicle for that endeavour.
